Broadcast Electronics has streamlined AudioVAULT. One of the world’s most capable and flexible enterprise radio automation systems just got even better.  The new AudioVAULT system capabilities are:

Customers critical requirements leads to major AudioVAULT improvements

Radio Broadcasters from around the world have depended on the Broadcast Electronics AudioVAULT for 30+ years.  Recently, a large customer with a complex global network came to us to modernize and update their existing system. A team of BE automation specialists including Bob Demuth, Kim Strieker, Hector Brown, and Charlie Noble sat down with the customer, and listened. They took the time to understand their processes and determine where improvements could be made, to make their critical operations work more reliably, efficiently, and flexibly. As an example, “our team realized that each of the dozens of networks were manually recording over a hundred cuts per day, many from HTTP sources. Our engineers rewrote our AVImport program to automate the ingest of these diverse HTTP and satellite feeds, minimizing errors and saving untold hours of manual effort”, says Bob Demuth AudioVAULT business development manager. Demuth went on to say, “I knew with our 80+ years of combined audio playout knowledge the BE team would come through with a spectacular new product. It was clear that all the hard work had paid off when BE was rewarded with this new order”.

BE’s Team makes significant changes to modernize and update the original AudioVAULT

The upgraded network now includes redundant systems, mirrored in real time so that any errors detected in the main system are mitigated by seamless switchover to the backup. The main and backup systems each include two playback servers, an ingest server and a 20TB redundant storage system. The new cloud storage includes nearly 50TB of capacity.

Customer orders second system

Witnessing the potential of the AudioVAULT platform to deliver unprecedented efficiency and fault-tolerance, this customer has ordered a complete second multi-million dollar system for emergency disaster recovery at another location.

The initial phase of this program was ordered in the third quarter of 2019, delivering this full-featured system in mid-2020. The second system is scheduled to be online in mid-2021.
